Your main duties in this position

  • Project implementation compliant to contracts
  • Project management including organization and coordination of any necessary project logistics
  • Pro-active coodination of input provided by project stakeholders
  • Coordination of local and international team members
  • Reporting to donor agencies, clients and partners
  • Contract management according to internal specifications/guidelines
  • Financial project planning and project tracking
  • Maintaining and development of relations with clients, financiers and experts
  • Active participation with tendermanagement
  • Support of the head of department

Educational background
Degree in civil engineering and/or environmental engineerig or similar degree on BSc level or higher
Experience and skills
A minimum of 10 years’ professional experience after graduation in design and/or supervision of construction, and management of relevant engineering projects
Substantial professional experience in a similar position
A comprehensive knowledge of International Development Cooperation, preferably also in developing countries
A minimum professional international experience of 3 years in developing countries
Experience with donor funded projects and the corresponding Conditions of Contracts
Fluency in spoken and written English and /or French required. Knowledge of German and additionally of Arabic or Spanish would be a plus
An independent and pro-active working style as well as structured, analytical reasoning and approach
Highly developed ability to work in a team and strength in communication skills
Ability to work in a remote location and in difficult environments
Cultural sensitivity
Full computer literacy and professional application of subject related software
